Using a MakerBot To Fix a Screen

So the little swivel clips that hold a screen to my window have broken over the years thanks to use and small kids. This makes me sad. Makes my wife annoyed.

This is what they should look like:

What to do, what to do. Aha! Take some measurements and whip up this:

and turn it into this:

Then print it on my MakerBot to get this:

Now drill some holes in the window and the piece to get this:

Awesomeness! I did have to grind down some of the part because the MakerBot could not print the necessary overhang. I chose to drill the holes instead of having the MakerBot print them because I was trying different things (screws, blind rivets, etc.) Not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works. And if they break again, I just print up some more!
